Advanced Aims to Become a Major Player in Australasian Fire Detection

Advanced, formed in the North of England 15 years ago, has become a world leader in intelligent fire alarm systems and life safety products. It sells into over 70 countries, with bases across the UK, US, Middle East, India and now Australia.

In the recently signed deal, Advanced’s newly formed Australian subsidiary, Fusion Advanced, acquired Sydney and Melbourne based Fusion Fire Systems PTY, one of Australia’s fastest growing fire system providers.

Fusion Fire Systems was formed in 2007, to provide Australian consultants, installers and end-users with the very best systems available, alongside industry leading expertise and support.

Five years of rapid growth have seen Fusion work across Australia on a number of prestigious projects including the landmark $1.2bn Westfield development in Sydney.

Richard Hitchman, founder and MD of Fusion said: “This is a major step for us. After working for many of the biggest names in the industry our team, which includes Jack Castle, Stewart Clarke and myself, has several decades of fire industry experience which allowed us to adopt a completely new way of doing business.

“Many said there was no room in the market for us but we’ve proved that absolutely false. Our mix of the highest quality product and senior expertise, all the way from specification and design to install and maintenance has been incredibly well received.

“We initially chose Advanced as our key product supplier because of the quality, reliability and ease-of-use of their products and the partnership we’ve built has been an instrumental part of our growth.

“We’ve worked closely with their team to deliver region-specific products, to achieve unique solutions and obtain the highest local JAS-ANZ approvals certified by SAI Global. Their ambitions match our own and we’re delighted to formally join the Advanced family.”

Ray Hope, MD of Advanced said: “Fusion impressed us from the first day we began working with them. Their approach is very similar to ours; give customers the best quality product and solutions, and focus on service and customer satisfaction.

“It was a very easy deal for us to do and we’re delighted to welcome the Fusion team to the organisation. Our business in the region is growing fast and Fusion Advanced will be key in continuing that success.”
