Our supervisors are undergoing Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)

Safety is our first priority here at Kingspan Light + Air | Airvent, so we make no concessions as far as safe working is concerned. We draw each others’ attention to unsafe situations and expect everybody who works with us to do the same.

Our take on safety extends beyond the end purpose of the systems we work on – it also sits at the heart of the way we work. Smoke ventilation systems are often found in hard-to-access areas including rooftops and high ceilings, so we need to ensure that our engineers – and members of the public – are safe when undertaking works.

This is predominately why all our engineering supervisors are undertaking the SSSTS training course. With this qualification under their belts, clients can be assured that our site staff will behave in a manner that takes into account:

• Health & safety law

• Developing a health and safety management system

• Occupational health

• Fire prevention and control

• Risk assessment and method statements

• Hazardous substances

• CDM 2015 regulations

• Working at height

• Personal protective equipment (PPE)

• Manual handling

• Accidents and first aid

“There’s no point just talking about health and safety and not taking positive action,” comments Theresa Burch, Health & Safety Manager at Kingspan Light + Air | Airvent. “This training scheme will guarantee that our supervisors are all fully equipped to plan safe projects and deal with day-to-day health and safety considerations. The certificate is solid proof that supervisors are competent in their job role and they have an understanding of the high standards asked by the business”.
