Kentec AlarmSense Fire Alarm Panels are EN54 Approved

Kentec’s Sigma CP-A AlarmSense compatible 2, 4 and 8 zone fire alarm control and indicating panels are now approved and certified to EN54 parts 2 and 4.

Two-wire AlarmSense has been developed to make the design and installation of a fire detection and alarm system easier and more economic for small to medium sized buildings, compared with standard four-wire conventional systems. The range also allows an existing system to be extended or modified if necessary. This flexibility makes AlarmSense an excellent choice for use in Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).

An AlarmSense installation can result in a 20-25% reduction in set-up time compared with a standard four-wire conventional system, because all devices in a given zone can be wired to the same pair of cables.

The AlarmSense range allows Apollo AlarmSense devices, including smoke and heat detectors, call points, base sounders, base sounder/beacons and relay units, to be wired to the same pair of cables, with rapid system configuration for common, zonal or two-stage alarm by simply setting one of the panels configuration options.

False alarm management is also very efficient, with alarm verification via the general and local alarm facility on AlarmSense sounders and beacons, which is particularly useful in HMOs such as student accommodation.

A spokesperson for Apollo Fire Detectors comments: “We are delighted with the news that Kentec’s AlarmSense range of panels has achieved full approval and certification.  Kentec has been one of our key panel partners for over 20 years and we have always been impressed by the high quality of its panel products.  This approval is testament to Kentec’s commitment to achieving the highest of industry standards and gives Apollo’s customers the added reassurance of the panel’s quality.”

All control panels have an integral, mains powered battery charger and power supply compliant with the requirements of BS EN54-4.
