EMS Innovates the Market!

Bringing two new products to the market, including one universal solution, visitors to EMS’s stand can find the latest technology, underpinned by unrivalled technical expertise and advice.

Wireless LAN from EMS allows up to 4096 devices to be wirelessly linked together across multiple buildings. With such a massive capacity, up to eight EMS FireCell systems can be linked together. This means that, for estates of more than one building, effective fire protection can be achieved holistically.

FireCell from EMS is the first and, to date, the only EN54 Part 25 compliant wire-free fire detection system on the market. It consists of a control panel and radio hub, combined with a set of radio cluster communicators (RCCs). These perform as bi-directional range extenders, using 868mhz. Wireless LAN from EMS can be connected to each FireCell panel with a network PCB. Programming is then adjustable according to the end customer’s individual fire plan and the site requirements.

The combination of FireCell with wireless networking is a market first, explains Ray Puttock from EMS, As a development it means we can provide a host of benefits for installers and their customers. It provides  a highly informative and configurable system that offers powerful cause and effect options, allowing the system to meet even the most demanding applications.

EMS will also launch a ground breaking universal system at Firex, SignalPoint. SignalPoint is a universal solution that is compatible with any system. It is a site signalling system that can send a wide range of alarm signals wirelessly across buildings and estates. Thus the need for costly and time-consuming cabling is removed and, because SignalPoint is universally compatible, significant investment in system upgrades can be kept to a minimum.

Traditionally cables and expensive trenching or ducting were the only means of integrating alarm systems, explains Ray Puttock. Now EMS brings to the market an approach that is suitable for all system, making life easy for installers and improving cost impacts for end customers.

These innovations build on EMS Radio Fire & Security’s impressive track record in the development of wire-free technology for fire detection and protection within buildings.
