Lorient's new, improved Fire & Smoke CPD accredited by RIBA

Designed for architects and other construction professionals, the informative seminar has been radically improved and incorporates new imagery, engaging video footage, and dynamic animations.

With ever-changing legislation, it is imperative to keep up-to-date with the latest regulations and standards. The seminar covers a range of topical information including hard facts concerning deaths, injuries and property damage caused by fire and smoke; regulatory requirements for fire and smoke resisting door assemblies; the nature and behaviour of smoke; effective design of door assemblies for smoke containment including the threshold gap. It also includes design conflicts between fire containment, smoke containment, durability and ease of operation on the door and the importance of independent accreditation. The seminar concludes with the opportunity to explore practical solutions.

In addition to the above RIBA accredited CPD seminar, Lorient offers ‘Performance Door Design: The Basics of Sound Reduction’, which addresses the important issue of acoustic containment, highlighted by changes in regulations including Approved Document E to the Building Regulations (England & Wales).

Seminars can be delivered at a workplace or convenient venue; and can be tailored to suit a wide range of audiences. For those that require more flexible learning, Lorient also provides an online module available at www.academy-elearning.co.uk.
